Abu Taher
Chairman
Department of Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE), European University of Bangladesh
Dhaka, Bangladesh
Dr. Abu Taher is an Associate Professor and head of the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering at European University of Bangladesh (EUB). He joined at EUB in 2018 as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department. Prior to this, he was a Faculty member and research Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Inha University, South Korea from 2012 to 2017 (two years Faculty member and others research Professor / Post-doc). He was awarded his PhD in Nano-materials and Catalysis from Department of Chemical Engineering at Inha University, South Korea in 2012.
Dr. Taher's research interests lie in the area of sustainable and green chemistry, advanced polymeric materials, renewable energy, nano-materials, catalysis, natural product isolation, biomedical engineering and synthesis of organic compounds. Importantly, Dr. Taher did a lot of work on Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs), and his research was published in high-quality journals, and this particular MOFs is so significant that is received a Nobel Prize in chemistry this year, 2025. However, he has made over 100 scholarly contributions, including 29 scientific articles in high quality peer-reviewed journals. He is conducting collaborative research with different national and international organizations in home and abroad.
Dr. Taher is an additional director of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at European University of Bangladesh and member of the different committees of the University of EUB.
