Dr. Alexis Rubén Bracamontes Ruelas is a Mexican researcher dedicated to environmental engineering and sustainable water treatment. His research focuses on advanced oxidation processes, especially the Fenton reaction, and the role of heterogeneous, homogeneous, and ecological catalysts in improving the degradation of pollutants. By exploring eco-friendly catalytic pathways that generate hydroxyl radicals, Alexis contributes to more efficient and sustainable wastewater treatment strategies. His work bridges chemistry and environmental science, reflecting his commitment to innovation and ecological responsibility. Persistent and meticulous, he combines scientific rigor with a vision for cleaner ecosystems. He is currently a professor at the Polytechnic University of Cuencamé and is conducting postdoctoral research at the Center for Research in Advanced Materials in the state of Durango, Mexico. His research has been a frame of reference for other researchers from 2022 to 2026.

His main research interests are:

  Wastewater treatment.

  •  Advanced oxidation processes.
  •   Fenton process like treatment of wastewater.
  •  Catalysts that enhance the Fenton reaction.
  •  Monitoring of emerging contaminants.
  • Techniques for detecting and quantifying emerging contaminants in aquatic environments.
