Dr. Habu Iyodo Mohammed is a seasoned academic, researcher, and Chemical Engineer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Maiduguri, Nigeria. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the department, where he is actively involved in teaching, postgraduate supervision, academic mentoring, and departmental leadership responsibilities.

Dr. Mohammed obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, between 2021 and 2024. His doctoral research focused on renewable energy and waste valorisation, with a dissertation titled “Application of ZSM-5 Zeolite-Based Catalysts Derived from Ceramic Tile Dust for Pyrolysis of Hyphaene thebaica Shell to High-Grade Bio-Oil.” He also holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maiduguri, where he conducted research on adsorption modelling and heavy metal removal, and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Chemical Engineering from ATBU.

Dr. Mohammed has received notable awards and research support, including the prestigious Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) PhD Local Scholarship Award. He has also served as a Co-Investigator in multiple research grants, including TETFund Institution-Based Research (IBR) Grants aimed at advancing catalytic processing of hydrocarbons and the design and construction of destructive distillation systems.

In addition to his academic and research contributions, Dr. Mohammed is a registered professional engineer and a member of recognized professional bodies including the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE). His professional competence spans research development, engineering analysis, scientific writing, and academic leadership, supported by strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Dr. Habu Iyodo Mohammed remains committed to advancing engineering education, promoting sustainable energy development, and contributing meaningfully to national and global research progress through innovation and impactful scientific research.

Research Interests
Dr. Habu's research interests include thermochemical conversion, waste-to-energy technologies, catalyst development for energy and environmental applications, and the valorisation of waste materials into useful resources. He has made significant scholarly contributions through several peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets such as Renewable Energy, Heliyon, and Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments, with additional research works addressing bio-oil upgrading, pyrolysis kinetics, and environmental sustainability.
