Xiaoping Sun
Professor
University of Charleston
USA
Dr. Xiaoping Sun, Ph.D. in Chemistry, is Professor of Chemistry at University of Charleston in West Virginia. He has over 25 years of experience in teaching general chemistry, organic chemistry and advanced organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and biochemistry. He has multiple years of experience in the studies of organic catalysis by Lewis acids. He has published many research papers on the subjects and two editions of an advanced organic chemistry textbook titled “Organic Mechanisms: Reactions, Methodology, and Biological Applications”.
Research Interests
Dr. Xiaoping Sun’s research projects include the iron (III) catalysis on chemical synthesis of aryl organosulfur and organoselenium compounds, charge-transfer chemistry, and organic photochemistry catalyzed by uranyl (VI). The projects cover areas in both organic and inorganic chemistry.
